Quarter-Century of Caring Winners

In February, VGM Insurance announced its quarter century of caring campaign, where we pick two or three organizations to receive $1,000. It’s our way of saying thank-you to our customers, affiliated insurance agents and VGM members for making their communities a better place to live. Now, we’re proud to announce the first four winners:

  • The Madison Claire Foundation, based in Woodbury, Minnesota. This organization creates inclusive playgrounds that allow children living with disabilities to enjoy playing without limits. They are in the process of creating a full-ramped, 16,000-square foot facility that will allow access to every part of the playground. The $1,000 will go towards completing this project. Jeffrey Hall with Reliable Medical Supply nominated them.
  • The HANDS Foundation, based in Brunswick, Ohio. HANDS serves senior citizens by enabling them to continue living an independent life, as well as connecting them with local organizations and offering education. They will use the $1,000 towards their Senior Wish Program, which grants wishes to seniors for things such as airline tickets, safety ramps and household repairs. Lori and Greg Betz of GTB Medical Service nominated them.
  • South Jersey Field of Dreams, based in Absecon, New Jersey. This program allows physically and mentally handicapped children and adults to participate in the game of baseball. Their diamond is specially constructed to accommodate a variety of special needs. They will use the $1,000 to update their uniforms and equipment, as well as purchasing food for their snack bar, which is free to all game attendees. Michael Thomas of Glenn Insurance, Inc. nominated them.
  • Club Blue, based in Rockford, Ill. They look after the health and well-being of children in need. This includes providing counseling services, shelter for children displaced by domestic violence and outreach to at-risk youth. The $1,000 will go towards helping this year’s grant recipients. Mark Hatch of Integrated HomeCare Services nominated them.

Thank-you to all our customers for submitting nominations! Look for updates in next month’s blog.
