Home Blog Final quarter for Quarter Century of Caring

As September closes and we get deeper into October, it’s time once again to name the latest winners in our Quarter Century of Caring Campaign!

Our first winner is Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Clarehouse is a home for terminally ill people. They provide living space, practical care and access to hospice care to their residents. They also give emotional, spiritual and social support for dying and their loved ones, ensuing that the former have the highest quality of life during the dying process. They were nominated by Meacham Pool of CareSource. CareSrouce provides medical equipment to a large number of patients being cared for at Clarehouse.

The second non-profit organization to benefit from our Quarter Century of Caring Campaign are the Honor Flights out of the Quad Cities in Davenport, Iowa. Honor Flights have many chapters throughout the United States. Their mission is to fly America veterans to the nation’s capital for free so they can look at the monuments that honor their sacrifices. The program works on donations and volunteers are used to coordinate flights and escort veterans to the sites. Jason Bates of Core Products International in Osceola, Wisconsin nominated them. Jason has volunteered for Honor Flights before, to both raise funds and to volunteer on the flights themselves.

To honor our own local veterans, VGM Insurance employee-owners decided to donate $1,000 to our local Honor Flight. Located in Waterloo, Iowa, the Sullivan-Haratogh-Davis Post 730 Honor Flight program serves World War II and Korean War Veterans from five counties. Through donations, they are able to coordinate Honor Flights to Washington, D.C. so veterans have a chance to visit historical sites including the war memorials that honor their service.

Congratulations again to last month’s Quarter Century of Caring Campaign winners! Remember, it’s not too late to still nominate the deserving non-profit organization of your choice. Simply visit
